James E. Wilson, President Graduated from the University of California in engineering and is both a registered professional civil and traffic engineer. Worked 26 years for the U.S. government and was State Traffic Engineer for California for 4 years followed by 8 years with the DOT in Washington where he held a number of senior positions including Acting Administrator of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. He was also President of Stimsonite Corporation (now part of Avery Dennison) for 10 years. He became President of HSP Group in 1984. Anthony A. Cooper, Chief Executive Originally trained as a quantity surveyor with Taylor Woodrow construction company (U.K.) but has spent much of his working career in sales and marketing. He has held directorship with Young and Rubicam, McCann Erickson and KLP Promotions. He moved to the Middle East region in 1969 and has lived in Lebanon, Bahrain as well as Cyprus (his current base). He founded HSP in 1976. He is a member of the Institution of Highways and Transportation.
V.S. Shekhar, Vice President He is a chartered accountant and also holds a bachelors degree in commerce. He has held several senior management positions with some of India’s biggest corporations including chairman of the audit committee of the Coal Mines Authority of India. He is currently based in the United Arab Emirates and his present business focus is the financing and control of HSP’s waste management projects.
Mohammed Alghunaim – Partner for Saudi Arabia The HSP office was set up in 1988 in partnership with Delmon Co. Ltd which is owned by the Alghunaim family. Mohammed represents his family in our joint interests. He is well known in the traffic field and has been instrumental in HSP’s success in this market. He is a business graduate of Colorado University, U.S.A.
Majd J. Abbassi – Partner for Jordan Majd originally joined HSP in Cyprus in 1990 as the group’s electrical engineer. Since moving back to his home country of Jordan, he has become our local partner. He retains his responsibilities for the groups electrical/electronic representations. He is a graduate in electrical engineering from the University of Hartford, Connecticut, U.S.A.
Tarkan Uragan – Partner for Turkey Tarkan is Vice President of Makimsan which is one of Turkey’s largest construction companies. He became the HSP partner in 1990 forming a specilized company called Saferay. He has been very active in the promotion of traffic safety with success. He holds a BA in business from the National University of San Diego, U.S.A.
Joanna Palmer, Company Secretary Trained in accountancy in Cyprus but worked in the U.K. and Germany before returning to her native country.
Joined HSP in 1992 and is responsible for maintaining all corporate financial records and monitoring financial reporting of the HSP local offices. |
